Full Job Description

General Electric (GE) seeks a highly skilled and experienced Senior Wind Turbine Technician to join our team in Seattle, Washington. This critical role involves the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of wind turbines, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on wind turbines, including blades, gearboxes, generators, and hydraulic systems.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems using specialized diagnostic tools.
  • Perform safety inspections of wind turbines and related equipment.
  • Climb wind turbines and work at heights, using appropriate safety equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
  • Participate in training programs to stay up-to-date on new technologies and best practices.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience as a wind turbine technician.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic skills.
  • Experience with diagnostic tools and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong safety awareness and commitment to safe work practices.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
